Without a plan, a goal remains just a wish. Goals should be clearly formulated and achievable. But how do you set them? The SMART method helps you to turn visions into results.
The five elements are:
1️⃣ Specific: Formulate clear goals. Instead of “We want to grow”, say: “We want to increase e-commerce sales by 15 %.”
2️⃣ Measurable: Define measurable criteria. Example: “We will reduce the response time in customer service from 24 to 12 hours.”
3️⃣ Achievable: Set challenging but realistic goals. Are the resources available?
4️⃣ Relevant: The goal should fit the corporate strategy and contribute to the mission.
5️⃣ Time bound: Set clear deadlines and review progress regularly.
Be SMART, but stay flexible, because unexpected challenges in business often require you to adapt your strategies. How do you set effective goals?
