9 - The Foundation of God’s Government | The Great Controversy

After his resurrection, Christ entered the heavenly sanctuary as high priest. There he examines whether all people have his New Life and makes a final decision about their future. Let's look at a few examples of this. If Jesus finds a person at his death to have lived according to the light that was given to him, he credits him with the New Life. A group of 144,000 people will complete the process of sanctification - the faith process of accepting the life of Jesus - and never die. We take a closer look at the Ark of the Covenant in the Most Holy Place. It contains the law of God, which man can no longer keep. For he is unable to trust God and take from him. The top of the Ark of the Covenant is the mercy seat. If we do not understand the law, we cannot understand grace either.

God controls his power through the law. It has no power of its own, since it is also only an instrument of God. The burning bush and the four men in the fiery furnace who did not burn to death prove this. The fire only has as much power as God allows. Because every effect is under his control. When Lucifer and later man deceived themselves, the grace of God came on the scene. Since God controls his power, he can keep Lucifer and man alive despite their separation from him and give them the grace to recognize their self-deception. If the law had power of its own, there would be no grace. We also look at what the Sabbath is all about. Ultimately, redemption is about giving up the wrong connection to people and reconnecting to the right source - God - through Christ. It is about coming out of external control into freedom. And grace gives us the ability to keep the law. What this means in detail is the subject of the ninth part of the series “The Great Controversy.”
