Centuries ago, God used images to illustrate the process of liberation from self-deception. The sanctuary, the temple and the tabernacle were the image through which God showed people how the work of redemption was to be accomplished. Unfortunately, few understand the sanctuary because they do not know man and his inner problem. We take a closer look at the work in Exodus chapter 25. The purpose of the sanctuary is to restore the inner connection between God and man. The earthly sanctuary was built in the image of the heavenly one. Redemption takes place in heaven, but without the earthly image we would not understand what happens in heaven.
We are looking at the deliverance of man from the error “I am God”. God has represented this in the seven annual feasts. We also take a closer look at what exactly happened in the sanctuary after the sacrificial lamb was slain. Christ is the sacrificial lamb. He came into Adam's life as a human being, solved the problem of self-deception in himself and, through his death and resurrection, created a new creature with a new identity as the eternal Son of God. The dead life must die and we need a new one. When we are born again, a process begins in which we work together with Christ to become perfect. For this we need a growing faith. What is the danger of the Christian on the path to perfection? The big problem is that he thinks he has already reached the goal of his life with the new birth, but this is only the beginning of an intensive process. The eighth part of the series “The Great Controversy” deals with what this means in detail.
