2 - A Day in the Ministry of Jesus | The Gospel of Mark

We look at the introduction to the Gospel: John as the forerunner of Jesus, the baptism of Jesus with the Holy Spirit, his confirmation as the Son of God and his temptation in the desert. In order to understand the text, we need the key of interpretation. This is the knowledge of the human condition at birth, the basic law of all things, the structure and functions of man and the importance of love as the driving force. Man deceives himself and believes that he is independent and lives by his own power. But he cannot change his original function.

He relies on human words, which ultimately destroy him. The great need of man lies in the fact that he no longer trusts God, but follows man and thereby destroys himself. God wants to redeem us from this self-deception. Jesus came into people's lives to connect them with God and give them a new identity. We also look at Jesus' tasks during his earthly life and the role of John the Baptist as a forerunner for Jesus. The calling of the first disciples is also examined in more detail. And what it means to still be a disciple of Jesus today is also explained in more detail in the second part of the series “The Gospel of Mark”.
